HOME: Florida Beach House Painting Project With Less Than On Gallon Of Paint!

The Story Of Our Florida Beach House

For over a decade, my family and I have gone on our annual Florida vacation. We’ve gone to Universal Studios, Busch Gardens, and many beaches, but our favorite area has been Clearwater Beach, Florida. We joke around saying we made it famous since we’ve been going there before all the huge hotels were even built. We love the volleyball nets, the soft, white sand, and the atmosphere there.

This year, my parents pulled the trigger and bought a cute, retro, one bathroom, 2 bedroom home very close to Clearwater that we now stay at while we are down here since our family is growing with everyone’s husbands and significant others. This way, we all are together and we don’t have to overload our hotel rooms!

Adding Some Color!

The house was very plain so we started making it our own. I really like transforming walls by painting them. It’s amazing what less than a gallon of paint did for our house! We wanted to add subtle splashes of color to the house. Since the house was sandy beach color, we decided to go with a bright blue to bring in the look of an ocean! We added the blue splashes from the inside out! All the ledges, shelves, doors, and shutters, along with a wall and a cabinet we found alongside the road a couple houses down.

Celebrating The Improvements!

The jobs painting only took us one morning to complete (I don’t need to tape or lay down newspaper since I can just eye the trim work so it makes the job quicker). To celebrate, we rode our bikes to a local ice cream shop and I polished off freezies! Always celebrate a job well done!
